Hello! Today, I'd like to introduce you to Miryang Wiyang Reservoir, which I recently visited. It's a must-visit place in spring, and I highly recommend you check it out too!
Wiyang Reservoir is located in Sanoe-myeon, Miryang City. Originally built for agricultural water supply, it has now become a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful scenery. Especially in spring, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, creating a truly fantastic landscape.
Romantic Stroll Through the Cherry Blossom Tunnel
The first thing you'll notice when arriving at Wiyang Reservoir is the cherry blossom tunnel. Along the approximately 1km walking path, cherry trees line up, creating a spectacular view when in bloom. Walking hand in hand with your loved one will make you feel like you're in a movie scene. It's also great to come alone, as watching the petals gently falling can be very soothing.
This cherry blossom tunnel shows different charms throughout the day. In the morning, you can see cherry blossoms glistening under the dazzling sunlight with fresh air. Around noon, the sunlight reflecting off the petals can make it look like it's snowing. In the evening, you can experience a different atmosphere. The cherry blossoms tinged with sunset colors are truly romantic.
As you walk along the path, you'll find benches here and there, perfect for taking a break. It's nice to enjoy a picnic or have a drink under the cherry blossoms. I also recommend sitting on a bench to read a book or listen to music. You'll feel your mind becoming peaceful.
There are many great spots for taking photos too! Especially when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the photos turn out beautiful. If you take pictures with falling petals in the background, you can get magazine-worthy shots. While selfies are good, full-body shots can better capture the beauty of the cherry blossom tunnel.

The lake's charm lies in its ever-changing appearance. In the morning, the mist rising from the lake creates a mysterious atmosphere. Under the midday sun, the lake sparkles like a mirror, reflecting the surrounding landscape. At sunset, the lake tinged with twilight colors looks like a spread of red silk.
On nice days, you can ride boats on the lake. It could be a romantic date course if you come with your partner. It's also fun to come with friends. Taking photos while boating is perfect for Instagram! The view from the boat has a different charm from what you see on land. Looking around from the middle of the lake makes you feel like you're inside a painting.
There are many photo zones around the lake. Especially the pavilion in the middle of the lake is a must-visit spot for great photos. From a distance, it looks like it's floating on the lake, which is really pretty. Sitting in this pavilion and looking at the lake can make you feel at peace. It's a good place for a moment of meditation or deep thought.
Around the lake, you can see various plants. In spring, besides cherry blossoms, forsythias and azaleas bloom, and in summer, lotus flowers decorate the lake. In autumn, maple trees turn the lake red. You'll fall in love with the lake's charm that changes with each season.

The lake at Wiyang Reservoir is also great for photography. Photos taken at sunrise and sunset are especially beautiful. Try to capture the changing colors of the sky reflected in the lake. I recommend waking up early once to see the sunrise. Watching the sun rise over the calm lake will make that day special.
Perfect Outing with Delicious Food
What's a tourist spot without good food? There are many delicious restaurants around Wiyang Reservoir. Be sure to try dishes made with jujube, a specialty of Miryang. There are various menu items like jujube tea, jujube bread, and jujube makgeolli. I enjoyed drinking jujube makgeolli while looking at the lake, and it was really delicious!
After your meal, it's nice to have dessert time at a nearby cafe. Make sure to check out the special menus that come out during cherry blossom season. If they have cherry blossom latte or cherry blossom cake, you must try them!
Wiyang Reservoir has different charms in each season. Cherry blossoms in spring, cool lake in summer, autumn foliage, and snow scenery in winter... You can see beautiful landscapes in any season. But my recommendation is still spring. The sight of Wiyang Reservoir in full cherry blossom bloom is truly unforgettable.
Transportation is convenient too. You can reach it in about 30 minutes by bus from downtown Miryang. The parking lot is spacious, so it's good to bring a car. It might be crowded on weekends, so visiting on weekdays is also a good option.
There are some things to be mindful of when visiting Wiyang Reservoir. To protect nature, make sure to take your trash with you. Also, be careful not to damage flowers or tree branches. If we all pay a little attention, we can maintain this beautiful place for a longer time.
