A Fantastic Day at Samcheok's Jangho Port

Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to introduce you to a hidden gem in Gangwon-do that I recently visited - Jangho Port in Samcheok. This place is so beautiful, it's perfect for capturing those once-in-a-lifetime shots! So, shall we dive into the charms of Jangho Port together?

Hawaii of the East Sea: First Impressions of Jangho Port

Wow, when I first arrived at Jangho Port, I was completely awestruck by the scenery! The emerald sea, white sandy beach, and the quaint fishing village all blended together, making it look like Hawaii on the East Sea. I was especially busy taking photos of the colorful houses lining the beach - they were just too pretty! The charm of Jangho Port is undoubtedly its beautiful beach. Walking on the sand and feeling the cool sea breeze, it felt like all the stress from daily life just flew away. It's great for swimming and perfect for having a picnic on the beach. I had such a wonderful time here, eating packed lunches and chatting with my friends. And the sunrises and sunsets here are truly fantastic! Watching the sunrise from the beach at dawn was absolutely breathtaking. The sky and sea turning red was so beautiful, I almost cried. The sunset has its own charm too. Drinking a can of beer while watching the red sun slowly sink into the sea - isn't this what life is all about?

Hidden Fun of Jangho Port: Marine Activities

There's so much to enjoy at Jangho Port, but the marine activities are truly the hidden gems that make this place special. The crystal-clear waters and beautiful coastline create the perfect playground for water enthusiasts of all levels. First off, let me tell you about the kayaking - it was absolutely amazing! I tried it for the first time here, and I'm so glad I did. They have these cool transparent kayaks that let you see right through to the water below. Imagine gliding over the emerald sea, watching colorful fish swim beneath you - it's like being in your own private aquarium! The calm waters around the port make it perfect for beginners, and there are guided tours available if you want to explore the coastline further. Surfing is another popular activity that's gaining traction here. The waves at Jangho are great for both beginners and more experienced surfers. There are several surf schools offering lessons, so don't worry if you've never tried it before. I was really tempted to give it a go, but time was short on this trip. It's definitely on my to-do list for next time though! Watching the surfers catch waves as the sun was setting was such a cool vibe. For those who prefer to be in the water rather than on it, snorkeling is a must-try activity. The water visibility here is incredible, and there's a diverse marine life to discover. Schools of vibrant fish, beautiful coral formations, and if you're lucky, you might even spot some octopuses or sea turtles! Next time I visit, I'm absolutely going to rent some gear and explore the underwater world. But that's not all - there's stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) too! It's a great way to explore the coastline at your own pace, and it gives you a fantastic core workout. I saw a few people doing yoga on their paddleboards, which looked both challenging and serene. For the more adventurous types, there's jet skiing available. Zipping across the waves with the wind in your hair sounds like such a thrill! And if you want a bird's eye view of the beautiful Jangho coastline, you can even try parasailing. Imagine soaring high above the emerald waters, taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the port and surrounding areas. One activity that caught my eye but I didn't have time to try was the banana boat rides. Groups of friends were laughing and screaming as they bounced over the waves - it looked like so much fun! What's great about Jangho Port is that these activities are available for all skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced water sports enthusiast, there's something for everyone. The local operators are friendly and prioritize safety, so you can feel confident trying new things. Remember to book your activities in advance during peak season, as they can get pretty popular. Also, don't forget to bring waterproof sunscreen, a change of clothes, and a sense of adventure! The marine activities at Jangho Port really add an extra layer of excitement to your beach vacation. They're a perfect way to create unforgettable memories and experience the beauty of the East Sea up close. So when you visit, make sure to set aside some time to try at least one of these awesome activities!

Flavors of Jangho Port: Fresh Seafood and Local Eateries

The highlight of any trip is the food, right? There are many restaurants in Jangho Port where you can taste fresh seafood. The sashimi I ate at the Jangho Live Fish Center literally melted in my mouth. The taste of fresh sashimi right in front of the sea is truly unforgettable. And don't forget to try the famous Jangho fish cakes! Maybe it's because they're made directly by local fishermen, but they have a perfect chewy yet mild taste. I ate fish cake skewers while walking on the beach, and I can still taste them. In the evening, I recommend having a glass of soju at a pojangmacha (street food stall). The combination of seafood ramen and soju while looking at the sea - it doesn't get more perfect than this! Jangho Port is really a charming place. Beautiful scenery, various activities, delicious food - it has all the elements for a perfect trip. It's especially like heaven for those who want to take Instagram-worthy photos! This trip was completely healing for me. I had been tired from my busy daily life, but immersing myself in the beauty of Jangho Port allowed me to blow away all my stress. If you have time, you should definitely visit. As you lose track of time exploring and falling for Jangho Port's charms, you'll feel your heart recharging. And don't forget to pack these when you go! Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are essential. The UV rays are especially strong in summer, so you need to take good care of your skin. Also, make sure to bring your camera or smartphone charger. There are so many photo opportunities that your battery will drain quickly. Lastly, I liked that Jangho Port is still relatively unknown, so it's quiet and peaceful. But it's becoming more famous, so it might not be as quiet if you go later. So, I think it's better to visit sooner if you have the chance! Well, that's the end of my Jangho Port travel review. I hope you all make beautiful memories at Jangho Port!
