Taebaek Guwau Village Sunflower Festival: A Day in the Golden Flower Fields

Arrival and first impressions

The moment I arrived at Guwawu Village, I was greeted by clean and refreshing air. The sunflowers that could be seen from the entrance were sparkling brightly. At the entrance to the village, there were friendly information signs and well-organized information about the festival, so even first-time visitors could easily understand. Many people were holding cameras and taking pictures, and it was impressive to see people of all ages, from children to adults, enjoying themselves. I also walked with excitement like them.

Exploring the sunflower field

The sunflower field, the center of the festival, was truly spectacular. I didn’t even realize how much time had passed as I walked through the vast sunflower field that seemed endless. The sight of the sunflowers all raising their heads toward the sun was truly impressive. I took pictures from various angles while walking through the sunflower field with my friend, and I was so happy because no matter where I took them, I got a picture-perfect background. In particular, I think I’ll never forget the scenery I saw while walking along the small path between the sunflowers.

Festival highlights and things to do

The Guwawu Village Sunflower Festival offered a variety of things to enjoy besides simply appreciating the flowers. At the food truck zone set up on one side of the sunflower field, you could enjoy delicious snacks and drinks. I could forget the heat as I walked around the sunflower field with a glass of cool lemonade in hand. There was also a booth selling handicrafts made by the villagers themselves, and many of the sunflower-themed items caught my eye. I bought a cute sunflower-shaped hairpin, and I still use it to remind me of that time. Also, I couldn't miss the small concerts held during the festival. Walking through the sunflower field while listening to the soft music played by local musicians was truly healing in itself. In the evening, the lights installed in the sunflower field turned on, creating a different atmosphere. The sunflower field at night, which had a different charm than the daytime, was truly romantic. This visit to the Guwawu Village Sunflower Festival was truly an unforgettable memory. It was a special festival where you could experience the beauty of nature and various fun things in one place. A day in the sunflower field was filled with golden memories. I definitely want to visit again next summer. If you have the chance, please visit!
