A Fairytale Island Full of Romance and Memories: My Trip to Nami Island

Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to share my travel story about Nami Island. Located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Nami Island is truly a special place. I was amazed that such a beautiful spot exists in Korea! As soon as I arrived on Nami Island, I was awestruck by the scenery before my eyes. The lush trees, beautiful walking paths, and the clear waters of the North Han River blended together to create a scene straight out of a fairytale. The Metasequoia Lane, in particular, was incredibly impressive. The tall trees stretching towards the sky were so beautiful, and the sunlight filtering through the leaves was magical.

A Moment of Unity with Nature: The Metasequoia Lane

While walking along the Metasequoia Lane, I leisurely took photos and enjoyed a stroll. As I wandered among the trees, I felt my mind becoming peaceful. I could savor the scents and sounds of nature that are impossible to experience in the city. Although it might have been even prettier in autumn, visiting in spring had its own charm. The sight of pale green buds sprouting was so fresh and full of life. What I realized while walking this path is that it has a different appeal in each season. In spring, the pale green buds are so pretty, and in summer, the shade created by the lush trees looks refreshing. In autumn, it must be stunning with yellow and red foliage, and in winter, the trees covered in white snow must be fantastic. The sight of the Metasequoia trees stretching straight up towards the sky was truly spectacular. The sunlight shining through the trees looked like a scene from a fairytale. You should definitely get a great photo here! I took a picture of myself walking among the trees from behind, and when I posted it on Instagram, it got a great response. As you walk along the path, there are benches here and there where you can sit and rest. When you sit on a bench and look up at the sky, the blue sky visible through the branches is really beautiful. I could feel my mind becoming peaceful as I closed my eyes for a moment and listened to the birds singing. I also discovered something interesting on this path - the "Whispering Tree"! There's a hole in the middle of the tree, so if you whisper on one side, you can hear it on the other side. It would be a fun game to play with friends.

A Festival of Culture and Art: Artworks Around Nami Island

After lunch, I explored the artworks scattered around Nami Island. Nami Island isn't just a tourist destination, but also a space for culture and art. The sculptures and galleries installed throughout the island were really impressive. It was also fun to visit the filming locations of "Winter Sonata", a famous Korean drama. I took photos and reminisced about scenes from the drama. There are so many diverse artworks on Nami Island. The first thing that caught my eye was "Book Land". There are sculptures themed around books, and the house made of books was particularly unique. When I went inside, it felt cozy and fascinating. The "Island of Songs" area was also really fun. There are musical note-shaped sculptures here, and each sculpture has a button that plays music when pressed. It was like a giant music box. It would be so much fun to come with friends and play with the buttons! I also visited each of the "Winter Sonata" filming locations one by one. I took photos in front of the tree where Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo stood, and walked along the path that the two of them walked. Even though it's been a long time since I watched the drama, being here brought back memories of the scenes. The artists' village was also really impressive. There are several artists' studios and galleries here. I especially enjoyed visiting a glass artist's studio - the colorful glass works were so beautiful. It was a meaningful experience to hear explanations directly from the artist. The sculptures scattered around the island were also really interesting. The "Alien Chair" sculpture was particularly impressive - you can get a really fun photo if you sit on it and take a picture. As I explored the cultural and artistic spaces of Nami Island, I realized that this place is not just a simple tourist destination, but a living space of art. I was able to draw inspiration from this place where nature and art blend together.

A Romantic Night: Nami Island's Night View

As the sun was setting, I discovered another charm of Nami Island - its beautiful night view. I could feel the romantic atmosphere of Nami Island that I hadn't noticed during the day. Walking along the softly lit paths and looking at the river scenery was truly mesmerizing. Seeing couples walking hand in hand made me a bit envious, but I could fully enjoy the romantic atmosphere even by myself. I stayed at a pension on Nami Island. The view I saw when I opened the window in the morning was absolutely breathtaking. The island shrouded in mist looked like a watercolor painting. Being able to eat breakfast with such a view was truly a dreamlike experience. The trip to Nami Island was really special. I was able to heal and make many good memories in this place where nature, culture, and art blend together. It's a travel destination I'd strongly recommend to those tired of daily life.
